‘Piscina Mirabilis’ Competition 2020

A proposal for a temporary Contemporary Art Museum, housed within the ruins of an ancient Roman cistern. Aiming at the promotion of communal pride and engagement with a hidden heritage site through its exposure; the project explored methods of sensitive layering through the appropriation of common types of structural consolidation. Installing an open system of platforms and screens within a rigid grid evoking the ephemerality of the scaffold with the stability of the armature.
